Gambia9 terms of service

Last updated: 18 August 2026.

1. Who these terms are with

Gambia9 is published by Pay365 Limited, trading as Ping Money.

  • Registered/business address: Future Business Centre Cambridge, King's Hedges Road, Cambridge, CB4 2HY, United Kingdom
  • Email: support@gambia9.com
  • Company number: 10737836

"We" and "us" mean Pay365 Limited. "You" means the person using the app.

By downloading or using Gambia9 you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. What Gambia9 does

The Gambian regulator, PURA, is changing national phone numbers from 7 digits to 9 digits, effective 4 September 2026.

Gambia9:

  • reads the contacts on your phone
  • finds numbers that appear to be affected
  • shows you a preview of every proposed change
  • updates only the contacts you select and confirm
  • keeps a local record so you can undo

Everything above happens on your phone. See our privacy policy.

3. What we do not promise

Please read this section carefully. It is the honest limit of what a tool like this can do.

  • Gambia9 applies numbering rules taken from PURA's published national numbering plan. We do not invent rules and we do not guess.
  • We cannot guarantee that any particular converted number is correct, in service, or reachable. Operators may port numbers, reassign them, or change their plans.
  • If a number is unusual, incomplete, foreign, or does not clearly match a published rule, Gambia9 leaves it alone. That is deliberate. It is safer to change nothing than to change something wrongly.
  • Gambia9 is a convenience tool. You should check important numbers yourself before relying on them, especially numbers you use for money, medical, or emergency contact.
  • We do not provide phone service, and we are not PURA, an operator, or a regulator. We are not affiliated with PURA.

4. Your licence to use the app

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Gambia9 on devices you own or control, for your own use.

You may not:

  • copy, sell, rent, or sub-licence the app
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or try to extract our source code, except where the law says you may
  • remove or alter our notices or branding
  • use the app to process other people's phones without their knowledge and permission
  • use the app to bulk-edit contact databases for an organisation without our written agreement

Personal use is free and always will be. If you want to update the contact records of a business, a bank, a school, a hospital or any other organisation, write to support@gambia9.com and we will sort out a licence — that is a service we offer, not something we are trying to stop.

  • interfere with our servers, or try to break the app's safety checks

We keep all intellectual property rights in the app, its name, its logo, and its content.

5. Preview and undo

These two things are built into the app and cannot be switched off.

Preview. Gambia9 never changes a contact until you have seen the proposed change and confirmed it. You choose which contacts to include.

Undo. Before any change, the app records the old value on your phone. You can undo changes from the recovery screen.

Undo has one deliberate limit. If a number has been changed again since the app updated it — by you, by another app, or by a contacts sync — Gambia9 will not overwrite that newer value. It reports the item as skipped instead. This protects work you did after the conversion.

6. Permissions

Gambia9 asks for permission to read your contacts, and, only once you have confirmed an update, to write to them. It also uses the internet to fetch the current numbering rules.

You can refuse or withdraw these permissions in your phone's settings. Without contact access the app cannot do its job.

7. Price and purchase

The scan and the preview are free.

In some markets the update is also free. In others it is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. There is nothing to cancel and no recurring charge.

Today the app is free in every market — paid unlocking is switched off and there is nothing to buy inside it.

If a paid tier is introduced, the price that applies to you will be the one the App Store or Google Play displays at the moment of purchase, in your own currency, shown before you pay. That store price prevails over anything stated elsewhere.

Purchases are made through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Those companies take the payment and are the merchant of record for your purchase. Their terms also apply. See our refund policy.

Optional Ping Money marketing consent is never a condition of the price or of the service. Declining it changes nothing about what you pay or what you get.

8. What you get for a purchase

A purchase unlocks the update feature for that installation of the app. If you reinstall the app or move to a new phone, you may need to restore your purchase through the app store you bought it from.

9. Support

Email support@gambia9.com. We aim to reply within two business days.

Please do not send us screenshots of your contacts. We do not want them and we do not need them.

10. Availability

We try to keep the app and our servers working, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Gambia9 works offline using the rules it has already downloaded, so a server outage does not stop you converting.

We may update the app, change how it works, or stop offering it. If we stop offering it, the app already installed on your phone continues to work with the rules it has.

11. Your consumer rights

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law. In the UK that includes rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — the app should be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described.

If you are in the EU, you keep the rights your own country's consumer law gives you, including rights about digital content and services. If you are in The Gambia, you keep whatever rights Gambian law gives you. Nothing here reduces them, and where these terms and your local consumer law disagree, your local law wins.

12. Disclaimers

Apart from your consumer rights above, and to the extent the law allows:

  • The app is provided "as is".
  • We do not warrant that the app will find every affected number, or that every conversion will be correct for every contact.
  • We do not warrant that the app is free of errors.

13. Limits on our liability

Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law says we cannot limit.

Subject to that, and to your consumer rights:

  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of data.
  • We are not liable for losses caused by a phone number being wrong, disconnected, reassigned, or ported, or by a message or call going to the wrong person as a result.
  • Our total liability to you for anything connected with the app is limited to the amount you paid us for it.

This is a low-cost utility app. The limit reflects that.

14. Ending these terms

You can stop using Gambia9 at any time by deleting it. Deleting the app removes the local undo record with it.

We can end your licence if you break these terms in a serious way.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version will be at gambia9.com. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Changes do not apply retrospectively to a purchase you have already made.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
